Adoptions

It is Rescue Angels of Southern Maryland’s (RASM) policy to place each of our rescued animals in a home that is well-suited to their needs. Once the animal is placed from our rescue, the animal cannot be sold, given away or otherwise transferred. If the adopter is, at anytime, unable to keep or continue to maintain the animal for any reason, the owner must contact RASM and make arrangements to return the animal to RASM.  RASM reserves the right to manage the adoption and all decisions concerning the animal.  We look for committed, ready, and able adopters that can provide a home for the life of the pet.

We work hard at matching our animals to adopters so that they may end their search for a loving, permanent home.
Temperament, special needs, behavior, and personality are all factors in our placements.  Completing an application to adopt does not guarantee adoption.

Policies and Fees:  All animals in our adoption program are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, FeLV/FIV/HW tested or 4DX heartworm/tick borne disease tested, dewormed, and given a starter of flea/tick/heartworm prevention.  All animals come with an adoption folder containing a health record, adoption contract, and pet care information. Rescue Angels of Southern Maryland reserves the right to refuse adoption to any applicant for any reason. Adoption fees are $150 for one cat or $280 for two cats. Discounts may apply for senior cats, barn cats, etc.  Adoption fees for dogs are $350-$600. The adoption fee covers the required veterinary care for adoption and varies due to spay/neuter fees per body weight, including training package, breeder fees, etc. Meet and greets and adoptions are held in or near our foster homes in Maryland. We do trial periods for adoption and adopt to homes within/approximately 100 miles of Waldorf, MD.

If you adopted your pet from us/Rescue Angels, contact us immediately at rescueangelssomd@gmail.com.  Please note we are a foster home based rescue organization and must have a foster home available to receive your animal. It may take some time to take the dog or cat back.  We will do our best to advise and help you first so that you may not have to give up your pet.
